Description
Kirk Briggs took $150 cash for the heaviest buck at the 2009 Mancelona Buck Pole. It weighed 197 pounds, just one pound heavier than the deer brought in by James Davis. Kirk is a Rockwood, MI resident and hunted near Waters. The deer had 12 points with a 16 1/4" spread. Since a hunter can earn only one of the top three cash prizes, Kirk claimed the heaviest and forfeited the most points to the next in line. Nice buck, Kirk!

Would like to say thank you to the town of Mancelona. It was my 1st "buck pole" adventure & you made it very memorable. Yes, winning was fun but the people made it worth while.
