COMMUNITY FORUM set for MANCELONA - State Representative Kevin Elsenheimer and Senator Jason Allen are bringing state and federal economic experts to meet with community leaders in Mancelona on May 12 to discuss options and opportunities following news of the impending Dura Automotive Plant closing. The meeting will be in the Mancelona High School Commons at 7:00 p.m. May 12. Assistance is available for displaced workers, and there will be discussion of opportunities the community can pursue to replace the plant. The agenda includes representatives from Michigan Works, Michigan EDC, Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Northern Lakes Economic Alliance, and Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center. Residents and community leaders should plan to attend, to learn more about what state and local resources are already doing to assist the area and what potential opportunities are available at this forum.
